Each time I start a post this way somewhere in the world Samo-chan can Spidey sense it and I think without fail he may have a moment of nervousness. I preemptively gave him the heads up about this a few nights ago so he should know this post has nothing to do with us though. 🙂
I do a lot of things. I work in the music industry, I like to cook (or pretend that I can at least), I travel a lot, play video games and… officiate fun themed weddings. Yup!
Thanks to the good folks at Universal Life Church I am an ordained minister (my officiating alias is known as Sister Ali Otome. FOR SERIOUS! ^_^). I got involved doing this probably a year or two ago when two of my best friends, Anthony and Stephanie, decided they were going to tie the knot.
See those two lovebirds? They’ve been together for YEARS! Through thick and thin they’ve grown both as individuals and together as one of the best WWE tag teams that have ever existed on this side of the Milky Way!
When we were together in NYC Stephanie was going to move weeks prior for a job offer, so Anthony in all his slick ways suggested we eat at this quaint little Luchador restaurant in the Lower East Side. It was there he in all his Randy Savage essence asked to take Stephanie to be his Elizabeth for eternity. Let me tell you to witness that first hand? I was in complete shock, and touched to be able to be part of such an integral moment of their relationship!
Fast forward to months and months later? The planning of the wedding was going down. I was asked by the couple if I would do them the honor of bringing them together in union and making them husband and wife. WHAT THE WHAT?!?! HECK YES I WOULD! It all came full circle, and on that fateful day we held a cozy, intimate, and private ceremony where I had the pleasure of officiating the two to the next chapter of their lives.
We’re all wrestling fans so…. THIS HAD TO HAPPEN. It’s what makes them unique and awesome and so stinkin’ cute!
To all my followers, there’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you. I wasn’t sure HOW or WHEN I was going to but <_< >_>
Yes folks, the secret’s out now. I may play a White Mage in Eorzea, but in real life? I’M ACTUALLY A SCHOLAR!
For the ceremonies I have and will conduct forthcoming, I never leave home without my trusty Clow books given to me as a gift from my dear friend Steve. Inside I hold the schedule of the ceremony, the vows, AND EVEN THE RINGS…. IF THEY FIT. 🙂
YES! YES! YES!
Following the ceremony, the attendants of the ceremony went and made a beeline to the New York Public Library in Bryant Park where the photographer took some amazing photos of the blessed couple. They really made this wedding an extension of themselves down to even the tiniest of details. That bouquet? Is actually the pages of a novel crafted into flowers paying a nod to one of the bride’s favorite pastimes of reading and literature. The groom’s ring? That is actually the color that proudly represents his favorite baseball team of all time, the New York Mets.
To date? I can happily report the couple is still going strong and still very much madly in love with their one year wedding anniversary soon approaching in a few months. Both working in the gaming industry, they happily reside on the Left Coast, but we all still keep in touch on a daily basis and are well.
((NO AND THEN))
AND THEN? There was a reason this whole post is even being published!
I recently accepted the opportunity to officiate another ceremony in August of 2016! For intents and purposes the couple shall remain nameless until they get to share the exciting news with their loved ones, but after 20 years of marriage I’ll be taking part in the renewal of vows for GET THIS…
…. A STAR WARS THEMED CEREMONY.
Let me tell you how stoked is an understatement! I love being able to bring happy and good people together so give me the officiating duties WHERE I CAN DRESS UP LIKE BOUSHH OR A LETHAN TWI’LEK? CAN I HOLD THE RINGS IN A BOX SHAPED AS A THERMAL DETONATOR? Yeah I’m in. I’m SO IN.
I’m well ahead of the curve with a year to plan and prepare the ceremony. Have a suggestion in mind? Be sure to leave a comment and let me know! 🙂
